Hot Routes: Day Creek Gravel Loop
This loop is an awesome go to gravel ride. On the surface the 24 miles doesn’t seem like much but there are some truly amazing sections here.
From the Day Creek Day Use Area, you start on pavement and work your way through farm land. Parralelling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then you cut north and start the climb up Bobblets Gap. You cross under the parkway here then bomb down to the Finger Trail Road. This is gravel and winds/wiggles its way, paralleling the parkway south, towards Camp Bethel. When you T into Camp Bethel Rd you will turn left and make the final climb up to Black Horse gap, on a surprisingly chunky forest service rd. You’ll cross the parkway at the top and bomb down a ripping forest service road back to the Day Creek Day Use Area.
